he had a great outing today. 6.2 innings, 7 hits, 1 er, 1 bb, 10 k's. And this was against the Phillies. I'd say to pick him up if u got an empty spot or u need a pitcher, and see if he continues on this path.
I agree. If he'd struck out 10 D-Rays that's one thing. To pick up 10 against the likes of Thome, Burrell, and Abreu says something. I'm rolling the dice on him.
The best thing to do in the beginning of the season is to do a little research before rushing to pick-up hot players. If a SS hits 2 HR's in a game, find out if he has a history of power, or if this is an anamoly. I don't know how often you'll find it's just a veteran journeyman who htis an average of 5 HR's a year, or in this case, a finesse pitcher who won't strikeout a lot of batters this year, but did strike out lots of batters in this particular game. Research unless you're so desperate you need pick up somebody, anybody!
