nope. half the time he'd be batting with the bases empty.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

I think beltran is overrated in real baseball, anyway. Steals aren't a big deal in real baseball, and I don't think he's the great player he is in fantasy. I'm sure the royals would be interested in merkin valdez, matt cain, and foppert, but I wouldn't give away our top young players for him.

you're right, he is a different player in real baseball. He's better! His defense is superb, which is key for any outfielder in that huge Pac Bell outfield.
he's got 11 homers and 41 rbi. the rbi is very good. That's a pace for 34 homers and 128 rbi. Very good numbers. Clearly better than any fielder on the giants(sans bonds). However, his average and obp aren't that great. Pedestrian, really. .280 and .364. I hear his defense is excellent, though. I thought he was a little worse, actually. Thanks for making me look up the numbers. However, its nothing to blow up our farm system over, like a prior or pujols would be.
i believe that the giants could also deal tucker and or dustan mohr for some pitching (from any team) epecially with todd linden being brought up, o and damon minor would play 1st base. and another thing the giants could do is trade alfonzo for something and sign aaron boone
