He's not as good as last year I will give you that much for sure. Last year he got hurt in the middle of a hot streak, he's a very streaky hitter and he's a summer hitter. I'd expect him to go on a tear some time soon but I do not expect him to match last years numbers. He's also been thrust into the position of being 'the man', he is expected to carry the offense, I just don't think he's comfortable with it yet.


As for as scouting report, they are nailing him with high fastballs and he's chasing them a lot this year, its causing most of his problems. I assume when he gets hot and sees the ball better he'll lay off the high fastballs but its not a given or anything. Right now he's a pretty risky person to take with a relatively high ceiling since he hits 3rd on a team in a hitters park, but he is no sure thing.

To be honest, I think Jenkins was juicing in the past and recently stopped. He looks really small this year and it's showing in his lousy power numbers.

I just dropped him for Jay Payton (crossing my fingers). I'm way back in my league and needed to take a gamble.

One note...he was hitting against Escobar tonight who went 8 innings with only 3 hits and 11k's.

Horrid against lefties this season, and not exactly blasting against righties either. Can't see keeping him in shallow leagues, and if a Figgins is available, I'd sure rather have that SB production plus 3B/OF eligibility.
