In my league there is no maximum appearances for pitchers, only maximum innings. My new strategy is to pitch a ton of middle relievers to get a few Ks and holds and also lower my era and whip. Anyone else doing this?
Sure, MR can be great in roto too. Their value depends on the league format: daily transactions, deep leagues, and a low IP maximum generally all work in their favor.
normal roto scoring... 5 SP slots, two RP and 4 P slots... 1300 IP limit

Affeldt (picked him up after he became the closer)

i'm at the top in all cats 'ecpt wins obviously... it can be done if you have a good enough offense you can also do decent in K's but theres a lot of luck involved there... but, yes.. scoring and league settings is the biggest factor.. things like IP limits and the distribution and number of P slots . of course i can follow this strategy w/ this kinda setup.. i also needed two RP's w/ SP eligibility otherwise i would'nt be getting my innings in...
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
I'm pitching Marte now...his innings have brought me over by 20 innings in projected IP, though, so I guess it sorta helps and hurts. I'm hoping he is the future closer, though it doesn't look too bright right now. Takatsu may be next in line. Damaso's my favorite player in the MLB, though, so it's hard for me to let go.
