How 'Bout Them Phillies

Postby stomperrob » Sat Jun 05, 2004 3:44 am

Well. they can't win the big one, and the Flyers blew their chance this year, and the Eagles have blown their chance the last 3 years and the Sixers, well you know the story. In fact Philadelphia teams have blown a shot at the big one 34 times in the last 21 years!
Well, Smarty Jones has a chance to reverse Philadelphia fortunes as the local horse has a great chance to win the Triple Crown today at Belmont, the first horse to do so since 1978. He (this Philly ain't a filly) just might start a winning trend in that fair city (is there some kinda curse there I don't know about?).
;-D ;-D

I'll go out on the limb and say that Smarty will win. :-D

I know, I know, that's not really a risky call. We'll see. ;-)

Life long fan of Philly teams, but I wonder: Will Philly boo Smarty Jones if he loses?
BRILLIANT!

Oh well, Smarty lost. Odds were 1-5 on him to win, so there's no way I'd have laid a bet on it. Gotta bet $5 to win $1? Thanks, but no thanks. :-D
