The only reason that they would deal Shaq is because he doesn't get along with Kobe and Buss loves Kobe.

As for Okafor, there are a lot of similarities between him now and a raw Olajuwon when he first started playing. Then, he took off. I really don't see the same for Okafor. I think that he'll do well but not a superstar. There were a lot better college players who didn't amount to anything in the pros.

As a sidenote, a guy from my grade 8 class is entering the NBA draft this year. He was bigger than Shaq (in both height and weight) when we were 14. Here's an article about him:

Sounds like LeBron; skill and smarts. That's what separates those 2 from top picks like Darius Miles and Lamar Odom. And I'd disagree that he isn't skilled offensively. From what I saw of him, he was a dominant force offensively. Great around the basket. But anyway, we'll see how he turns out.
