I have the first pick in my draft, and it's about to start. It's a head to head league with 10 categories, 5 hit 5 pitch : avg, run, hr, rbi's, sls, era, whip, w, s, k
Letting my common sense go for a minute, I'd say Kenny Lofton is the obvious choice here, he is so young and has big potential. I think this is the year he breaks out. Either Him or Albert Belle.
vlad, without a doubt in my mind. short of having a nagging hammy or frank robinson deciding to pull a felipe alou and protect him, he's a veritable 40/40 threat who is fully capable of batting.330 and a near-lock for 100 runs and 100 rbi each year.
a-rod gets you more power #s (hr/rbi), but vlad's been putting up vlad-type numbers for 4 straight years, two of which with the steals... and he generally doesnt miss games either.
so i'd rank 'em like this:
1) vlad
2) johnson
3) pedro
4) bonds
5) a-rod
bonds before a-rod because he's at a point in his career where he can put up special #s (hitting .400, hitting 60+ HR, etc)
how can you put pedro ahead of arod ????? i mean the others are a matter of opinion but there is no way under any circumstance that predro should be taken before arod in any draft this year !!!!

Gotta agree with Dogg.. Pedro before Arod.. Uhh.. maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Pedro doesnt even pitch complete games any more. Still a top ten pick no doubt.. but not over Arod.
