Im having trouble deciding what my next move should be in this league. See any strengths/weaknesses? Please advise me on what I should do. Heres the team:

C Pierzynski, A.J. (C-Min)
1B Palmeiro, Rafael (1B, DH-Tex)
2B Spivey, Junior (2B-Ari)
3B Hillenbrand, Shea (3B-Bos)
SS Eckstein, David (SS-Ana)
OF Green, Shawn (RF-LA)
OF Suzuki, Ichiro (RF-Sea)
OF Cameron, Mike (CF-Sea)
Util Delgado, Carlos (1B-Tor)
Util McGriff, Fred (1B-LA)
Util Encarnacion, Juan (RF, CF-Fla)
Util Giambi, Jason (1B, DH-NYY)

(no bench for offense)

SP Wood, Kerry (SP-ChC)
SP Padilla, Vicente (SP-Phi)
SP Schilling, Curt (SP-Ari)
RP Nen, Robb (RP-SF)
RP Benitez, Armando (RP-NYM)
P Julio, Jorge (RP-Bal)
P Mantei, Matt (RP-Ari)
P Escobar, Kelvim (RP-Tor)
Bench Glavine, Tom (SP-NYM)
Bench Johnson, Randy (SP-Ari)
Bench Rueter, Kirk (SP-SF)
Bench Washburn, Jarrod (SP-Ana)

(its a daily change league, thats why johnson + glavine on bench)

so what do you think of the team? all input appreciated.

oh yeah, i made one trade after the draft to get this team. I traded Barry Zito, Tim Hudson and Andruw Jones for Jason Giambi and Curt Schilling.

It's crazy what type of teams you can put together with an 8 team league!!! I'm in a 14 team league and it's pretty tough. You pitching staff is phenomenal, although i didn't see a lot of closers in there, so that may be something to trade for. YOu hitters are impressive as well, good contact and power, but not so much speed. If your league doesn't put a premium on sb then you're fine. Can you check out my team? atwa26

He has five of them , RP Nen, Robb Benitez, Armando Julio, Jorge P Mantei, Matt Escobar, Kelvim , a couple of risks a couple of no names and an injured all star. stimples16 your team is solid except the right side of your infield is a little weak . I'd try to trade some of your big bats to improve.

one guy has maggs, beltran and bonds on his team - but no pitching. i was thinking i could offer him schilling/eckstein for maggs/jose hernandez ... do you all think this is a good trade offer for me?

(for people looking at this post for first time, what do you think of the team?)

yes, i would like to know how you were able to draft randy, zito, hudson & kerry wood and still have a semblance of an offense.

that said - here's my analysis-

pitching - all looks good but you lack an ace closer. i'd try to make a deal for smoltz, folke, gagne or percival.

o/f - you could use another power outfielder like manny or garrett anderson (for some reason; he's easy to get) or maglio

c - you could easily upgrade a.j.

2b - spivey is cool right now; get ellis cheap and let him run things until junior warms up

ss - you gotta upgrade here; in an 8 man league, you should be able to get one of the big 4 w/the trade bait you have; i suggest nomar as i think he's going to have a HUGE year

your trade bait - palmeiro, mcgriff, delgado, cameron, and kerry wood (you have plenty of k's; he's so tasty to other owners; use him to get better)
