Why did Callaway start game 2, not Ortiz?

Postby Nappy Dugout » Wed Apr 02, 2003 1:16 pm

Just wondering, since it appears that Callaway is the fifth starter, and Ortiz was lights out in the spring. No word on any injuries, so it seems strange.

Any word?

I believe Callaway is a lefty. More than likely they just wanted to mix up the pitching order.

Ortiz is fine and is pitching tonight.

Callaway is right handed, and isn't supposed to start again until next Friday.

Maybe it had something to do with the spring schedule?
