Kotchman has yet to display power at any level and he has no speed. If he stays healthy, some power should eventually show. Not enough to make him more than an average fantasy corner, though. The guy in the Halo org that has the big roto ceiling is 3B Dallas McPherson.

I've read his lack of K's is something of a double-edged sword. There are many scouts and others who criticise his lack of agressiveness at the plate. I don't know if I buy it, but it's an interesting observation.

It is possible to strike out rarely and be a middling hitter (see Joe Sewell, although he is in the HOF!)

I'd look for him to be like Sean Burroughs for a couple more years. Neither has developed much in the way of power, but are great contact hitters that will hit for high averages.

As much attention as his only now 4 K's gets, he's only drawn 3-4 walks.

I think he has more power then Burroughs. At the same ages in Double A, Burroughs in almost 400 at bats had just 2 hr's. Kotchman last year, in only 206 at bats had 8 hr's. Kotchman by most has a higher power ceiling then Burroughs, as he could hit 30+ later on in his career. He is only 21 now annd power is the last tool to show up for most. Burroughs is young to, but I don't think has the type of swing to get 30+, I think he could hit 20 though. His swing is more suited towards high average and contact, not hr hitting.
