David Ortiz not on allstar ballot WRITE HIM IN!!!!

The only thing Jeter brings to the table is his bat, and that has been among the worst in baseball so far. Oh man, if Torre brings him...... :-o

But everybody has to accept that the All-Star game is a popularity contest, which is what it should be. It's a game with all the players the fans want to see. Sure if you want to be fair about it then don't let the fans vote, but then everybody except us die-hards loses interest.

Anyway, Ortiz wasn't on the ballot because he's a DH and there's no DH in the NL All-Star game. Kevin Millar is the Red Sox's 1B. What do you want MLB to do, cheat to get him on as their 1B?

Kevin Millar has played little 1b this year:

Games at 1b-
Ortiz-18(17 started)
Millar-13
McCarty-30(but only 9 started)

It seems like Ortiz is the number one guy at first base.

Little "Mo Vaugn" as I like to call him is probably the best 1B in the AL this year so I agree with you. Though it is really hard to vote in someone that DH"s as much as he plays in the field.

Last year is what the ballot is based on. And last year Millar played 1B while Ortiz DH'd.

So why is A-Rod 3b?

Not sure.......maybe because they knew he'd be playing 3B. Or maybe I'm wrong and they make them shortly after the season starts.

But honestly, if you had to select a player from the Red Sox who is their regular 1B, who would it be? The 1B from last year who has spent some time in RF because of an injury to Trot Nixon, or the DH who is making a start here and there at 1B because of the same injury? Obviously Millar is the 1B and Ortiz is the DH. That's why he's not on the ballot.
