Pitching staff is best in my league so im strong at that.
Heres 2 offers waiting to be accepted by me but i wanted to check with you guys first
Zito and Vlad for Randy Johnson and Magglio
Id accept this in a second but Zito is doing better than Randy right now.
The other one: Jarrod Washburn and Troy Glaus(utility when Nevin gets back) for my guys, Mgriff, Sabathia, Acevedo, and Tyler Houston.
Should i accept those or not, and in the first one is Vlad to big of a loss in that deal.
The first offer sounds more or less fair, but if your pitching is already the best in the league, you probably don't want to improve it at the cost of your hitting. Normally, I'd be in favor of accepting this, but in your situation, I don't think it's the right choice.
The second deal seems like it involves a very high price for obtaining Glaus - this probably would only make sense if there's a great amount of talent on your free agent lists, especially since you have Nevin returning anyway.
I have to concur with Arlo here. If you're pitching is strong then why compromise your hitting to strengthen it. Sure nice to get a marqee name but you're giving up one in vladdy.
Ordonez is a nice player - very under-rated - but not a Guerrero. Zito is hardly a flash in the pan either. I like this guy and don't expect him to fall off.
Sometimes the best deal is the one you don't make.
On the second one I would just add that Washburn is always a bit scary on injury risk and workload. In your deal you're selling Sabathia low and buying Washburn high. Glaus likely to get better though and has a single game at SS if that makes a difference.
I could add Pedro to the deal instead of Zito because im so scared of him getting injured. My team would be in a hole if he gets injured. SHould i do that
If you're scared of an injury to Pedro and have a lead in pitching anyway, there's nothing wrong with following your instincts. Pedro has looked good recently, however, and I'd consider his value to be quite a bit higher than Zito's.
Why do you want Randy so badly if you are in first in pitching? You got Zito and Pedro so sit tight. Why give up Vlady a 30-30 unless you need the K's Randy will provide. If i were you i would try and get rid of Dye.
While it depnds on your scoring, Johnson's value can be anywhere from very high to, as they say in the commercials, priceless. He's worth any of the elite bats, from Sosa to Helton.

I don't think I'd touch the Unit in that case, unless you receive an absolutely staggering offer. If somebody wants to throw, say, Soriano, Bonds and Hudson your way, so be it, but I don't think there's any one single bat who could help you more than he can (assuming he stays healthy, of course).
