Chipper Jones to 1B

Postby Pedro » Wed Jun 02, 2004 6:52 pm

As per the AJC and the Braves Report, Chipper Jones will play 1B whenever he returns from his latest hammy injury. Should help his health and up his value a bit when he qualifies for 1B with all the injuries of current 1B.

Indeed, Bobby Cox just confirmed this on the Braves Report.

I once pulled my hamstring in a game, and they moved me to first base, they threw one high to me and i caught it and fell right over.
All my posts regard H2H (yahoo), I don't play Roto.

not clear that will actually help considering that the latest injury was when he was running to first on a groundout...
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Plus, he'll probably be back in LF when LaRoche returns from the DL.

If Derosa continues to play poorly I wouldn't be suprised to see Chipper at 3rd b4 the end of the year as well.

i was watching the game and i believe that he actually aggravated it when he chased down two balls in the outfield before that....he almost crashed into the wall going after 1 of them....

i jumped up and looked at my monitor expecting him to be hurt, cuz i was playing the owner that had him... !+)

i talked to the chipper owner and he thought the same thing...
