Angels: Anderson feeling great
The News
After beginning oral medication almost two weeks ago for his arthritis, outfielder Garret Anderson feels as close to normal as he has in months and is not ruling out a return by the end of the month. "I'm not going to put a time frame on it, but you can kind of gauge from what I'm doing," Anderson told the Los Angeles Times, referring to workouts which include hitting off of a tee, playing catch, and running the bases. "I'm getting in shape, but it shouldn't take as long to get in shape because I already went through spring training."
Our View
Though the Angels' offense has slipped a bit recently, they've performed remarkably well in the face of injuries thanks to sluggers Vladimir Guerrero and Jose Guillen. If one of your owners was myopic enough to drop Anderson, the time is now to swoop in and grab him if it's not too late. Remember, Anderson has led the majors in hits since 1995, and he's averaged 30 homers and 120 RBI over the last four years. Not only will he perform in the second half, he will provide Vlad and Jose with significant protection in the heart of the order. "
Sounds good to me.
