"Luck"ily, I don't have him in any leagues. On the bright side, you won't have to suffer through his regression to the mean which could have been brutal.
Guess pitchers are just something we might never agree on. Lol.
I'm more than happy to just sit back and wait for Peavy to return. He's got a nice spot on my bench until he's ready.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Pain gone for Peavy: Right-handed starter Jake Peavy also has an eye on the schedule. He'll throw tomorrow for the first time since going on the disabled list May 27 with tendinitis in his right forearm. "All the associated pain is gone," said Peavy. "I'd love to be back some time late in the next home stand.
His pre All-Star ERA/WHIP were 4.55/1.38
His post All-Star ERA/WHIP were 3.26/1.21
He had a HORRIBLE July 2003 (8.86/1.97)
You take out July and his 2003 ERA/WHIP are 3.54/1.23.
Even with his horrible July the NL only hit .238 against him.
In 2004 he was pitching with some luck. The league is hitting .266 against him, which is too high. I'm sure he would have brought it down, at least I hope he does. He can't carry a 2.01 ERA with a .266 BAA. If healthy I don't see why he can't end up with with a 3.00-3.30 ERA for the season.
Peavy will follow Tuesday's easy-toss session by playing long toss and could get up on the mound as early as next weekend when the Padres are in New York to play the Yankees.
Haven't heard anything in the three days since. Any of you Padres fans have any new news?
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
NEWS: June 8
STATUS: 15-day Dl
SKINNY: Peavy (inflamed forearm ligament) made big gains last week and hopes to return to the rotation around June 25, according to The Sports Xchange.
SPIN: There have been no reports yet on Monday's throwing session, and ordinarily how the pitcher feels the next day is as important as the results. Peavy believes he's ready to return at the end of the month but the team has thus far been non-committal.

I'd say it's a fair trade for both sides. I'm looking to deal Feliz too....did you know he's the 7th ranked SS so far this year in Yahoo? Got to be a sell-high point.
That's good. A guy in my league sent me a flame email saying I ripped the guy off for Blalock (I'm commish and put the trade through right away, just like I have with every other trade this year, 0 vetos). I think he was still angry at me for getting Takatsu first though...
