Anyone think he'll be closing in Percival's place any time this season? I'd really like to see it. This is obviously Percival's last year in Anaheim, so why not start breaking in Rodriguez this season?

Because if the Angels plan on dealing Percy, they need him to rack up a few more Saves, so the can deal him off.

I guess that makes sense. But at what cost do you let Percival keep struggling to close out games before you wind up getting nothing for him when trying to trade him?

Unrelated directly to the closer situation, but K-Rod was in for 1.1 innings last night and struck out 4 batters.
Whew ....

I'd be willing to bet that if Percival continues to struggle somewhere down the stretch KRod will come in for more and more save situations, even if he doesn't become the full-time closer.

I hope it happens soon, Im struggling in saves with Rivera, Looper, Ugi, with K-rod on the bench and Wagner on the DL.

You shouldn't be doing so poorly with that crew for saves, maybe not top of the charts, but I'd be suprised if you weren't in the midst of the rankings.

Last year of his contract, he's overrated, he's been sucking lately, and they have K-Rod.

Shades of the John Wettland-Mariano Rivera situation from the mid 90s?
