Anyone know why he didn't play on Sunday? Everything I'd read coming up to the game said he'd be in the starting lineup on Opening Day ...

Word is that Showalter wanted to give the opening day nod to the veteran Ruben Sierra.
Tex will play - often. Blalock, Tex, Young, Glanville, Everrett will shift around positions/starts.

0-3 with a K and a BB, 4 men left on base. I normally wouldn't pay too much attention to the day by day stats of a player, but with a guy like Tex fighting for an every day starting job, I think it's important to keep close tabs on him. Don't especially like the 4 LOB. He's got time to win the job, not much, but some.
