Whichever 1 is better depends on a few things. Personally, I would probably rather get Vlad in the 1st and then get Pierre or Crawford later, especially in a H2H league. Either of those guys can win each week for you. Pierre did for me last year. Here are their averages for the last 4 full seasons:

Beltran
.294 AVG
108.5 R
25 HR
103.5 RBI
33.5 SB

Vlad
.326 AVG
104 R
39.75 HR
118 RBI
25 SB

Assuming that Vlad's days of stealing are over, it's still close. It really depends on the makeup of the rest of your team. In a H2H scenario, Vlad would beat Beltran 3-2 in a standard 5X5. This year, it's 4-1. I know that doesn't mean a whole lot but it's something to think about.

Well I don't think going back 4 years and comparing 2 players is very accurate. Beltran is clearly getting better. Vlad doesn't have much room to get better. He's actually worse than a couple years ago when he was arguably the #1 fantasy player. Whther or not Vlad wins 4 of the 5 categories doesn't make a huge difference........because Beltran's 40 more SB's that he'll have will more than make up for it. You can say all you need is Crawford or Pierre, but then you're sacrificing an early pick on a player who will give next to nothing in HR and RBI. If it's a given that you'll draft Pierre or Crawford, then I can see Vlad being more helpful than Beltran. But I'd rather have Beltran over Vlad in a draft so I don't need to rely on a bad power hitter for my SB's. It's personal preference I guess.

I guess that we're both just saying that there's more than 1 way to skin a cat. ;-D
