He's great in keeper leagues but he won't be too valuable in single-seasons. I can't imagine he hits double digits in homers and won't get more than 50 RBI the rest of the season. He will hit about .290 which is quite respectable but he is still young and won't be a fantasy force until 2005 at least.

but isnt mauer projected to be as good as bj upton, and as good of a prospect coming into this year? In that case, he should be valued just as much or more right? correct me if im wrong... Im curious because a catcher with a high avg, good batting eye (we count bb and ks) and hitting in a decent spot in the batting order will be valuable to me and someone in my league has offered mauer for herges.
