i think relief pitchers may get added after 3 appearances, but I am not 100% sure.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

I believe that Valverde will have to return as closer very soon. Maybe within the next week. Service has no business closing Major League Baseball games. Between Dessens and Service, Brunley goes with Service over Dessens come on! Service just got rocked by SF. Service is borderline major league material. Dessens is much more effective as long relief or a spot starter. Brunley may be on his way out!

Let's hope so...
I still can't get it. Mantei gets 7000 Opportunities for a good clean 1 Inning Save, blew nearly all of them and Valverde loses his job after a couple of games, where he comes with man or 2 man on base into the game.
i know what you mean, how many saves did valverde actually blow? cuz it seemed to me the bulk of the damage done against him was in non save situations....or am i wrong? How the hell can you close with scott service? For s#!t's sake, let valverde settle into that role.
Service's stats look awful and from a Fantasy perspective, they are. However, it's unlikely that anyone in REAL baseball will hold this outing against him.
I watched the game and 90% of the damage you see in his line is a result of a routine, slow roller going through Cintron's legs and for some reason being credited as a HIT. The commentators were dumbfounded. Probably one of the worst scoring decisions I've ever seen.
If Cintron made the play -- like you or I could have -- Service would have had a scoreless inning.
