If I had more experience in fantasy baseball, I would have realized what a joke Bonds was in drafting especially when I hardly ever win in the BB category.
Anyone with any Fantasy experience shouls stay away from Bonds (assuming its 5 by 5 format). His walks and weak lineup around him do not make him a first round pick. And if hes not gone after the first round you are either in a very smart league or a very dumb league.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Now I know for next year
I drafted Bonds only becuase I thought the League was going to be 6-5. If i has known that it was just 5-5 I would have drafted Beltran.
I know this is the wrong forum, but the topic is appropriate. This guy in my league told me that he has tried to draft bonds for the past 2 years so I know he is interested. I was thinking of packaging Bonds with a 2nd tier pitcher (possibly Moyer) and trying to get Manny Ramirez and one of his 2nd tier pitchers. Or should I go for someone like Soriano or Beltran. My team is mostly power so I was thinking about sticking that way and forgetting about SB's. What do you guys think? H2H Scoring: R HR RBI SB BB AVG

Do NOT just forget about SB. I had no SB guys at the begining of the season but I made some trades for some and they are the reason I am in first place.

in certain leagues called rottiesserie (spelling?) leagues you are compared to other managers in many categories. 5x5 simply means that there are five batter categories (typically R,RBI, HR, SB and AVG) and 5 pitching categories (usually W, SV, K, ERA and WHIP). Some commissioners like to add or subtract various categories, like BB, Holds, etc, and create 6x5 or 6x6 leagues etc.

In one league I took Manny over Bonds in the first round by mistake. I was using ESPN's cheatsheet and for some reason they had "SF Outfielder" listed instead of B. Bonds. EVERYONE else had their name on the sheet. Skimming over my list as I was sitting at #10 I jumped on Manny. I WAS PISSED when I saw Bonds get drafted at #12. Lucky for me.
