Matt Morris? Overrated?

Is matt morris over rated, or will his numbers come around?

I hope he does. I just traded away another even bigger question mark (A.J. Burnett) for him.

Seriously though, even though his win and K numbers aren't that high, his ERA and WHIP are still quite good - which gives me faith that the wins will come. (The strikeouts, I'm not so sure about.)

He is not a bad pitcher, but I do not know how he is rated. His K total is not very impressive, and he does allow his share of walks. I do think he will start winning, but probably just around 15 would be a fair bet.

Id say he is overrated. He's much better than he's shown this year though.

Morris has lost 4-5 mph on his fastball, he has had to learn to pitch more rather than just "throw". He used to be able to just throw that fastball by people now he has to work harder to locate it. He is still a front end guy but is not the Cy Young candidate he was 3-4 years ago. With that lineup behind him though he can still win 15 games.

he really went downhill after daryle kyle died in 2002. at that point he was on his way to 20 wins. the guy is still a solid # 1 real life starter, but not a member of the fantasy elite
