Lyle Overbay, he's hitting .349 and is demolishing NL Central pitching, which isn't a pushover. I know he'll cool down and hit somewhere around .280 but as of now, he's the biggest suprise in my book.

i think that since we are talking about the surprises, we shouldn't forget about the bad ones... like Jose Vidro. tryin to think of someone else who started out bad and still is bad...

Not too often does a young catcher undrafted in most leagues come along putting up all-star caliber numbers at the plate like Victor Martinez .287/9hr/39rbi before June.
