Tired of the same old fantasy baseball leagues ?
I'm starting a yahoo keeper league that will force managers to make a lot more GM-like decisions when it comes to rosters.
Here's how it will work... Each team will have a 25 player roster using the real postions C,1,2,3,SS,LF,CF,RF,UTIL, a 5 man rotation SP,SP,SP,SP,SP and a 5 man bullpen RP,RP,RP,RP,RP leaving 6 bench players.
Stat categories are AVG,RUNS,HR,RBI,STEALS,FPCT
W,ERA,WHIP,K,HLDS,SAVES
Now for the twist...
There will be a $100 million dollar salary cap. The idea is that managers will have a mix of expensive veterans and young talent. Keeper max is 10 but up to a limit of $40 Million. Would you draft ARod and pay him 1/4 of your payroll ? Building young talent will have an advantage here making future drafts full of high priced talent. Things like dumping payroll to make salary room for a trade will come into play.
I'm looking for as many active mangers up to 20 to join by Sunday June 6th. If we don't get 20 we'll expand next year. The draft is set at 6pm EST June 6th.
