Beckett will be placed on the 15-day DL Monday because of a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand, a recurring problem that cut short his start against the New York Mets on Sunday and sent him to the disabled list three times in 2002.
Next start: 5/30 NYM

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Does this mean Tommy Phelps will stay in the rotation for 2 weeks or does Oliver get put back in. I assume AJ will jump in the rotation for Beckett's next start & Phelps will pitch as scheduled for Monday & Saturday this week.
Well, the good news is that this should make it less likely that he'll have any arm troubles in the second half of the year
at least, theres something good to it... hopefully he will get some time to rest his body which has never thrown anything significantly more than 150 innings and figure out his pitch selection n' strategy and will come back kickin some serious ass...
fingers crossed
