Mesa, Dotel and Kolb

Kolb and Dotel. I picked up Kolb a couple of weeks ago because I was in desperate need of a closer with a low ERA. He will get you the saves and the low ERA, but he will not get you the K's.

I could care less about getting a potential 30 more Ks out of a closer...if you want Ks that bad, pick up Valverde, he gets a lot .

The bottom line is if a closer gets the save and helps your ERA/WHIP, he's a quality closer. It's not like Kolb doesn't strike anyone out, just not as many as some closers do. It's really not that big of a deal. Dotel is a close second IMO, and if he can finally get himself together he will be the best without question...but until then, Kolb gets my vote.

Kolb's K's will be fine, he's hit 100 MPH with his fastball once this year, he brings the heat. He had a patch where he just dind't get any K's. Last year he had 39 K's in 41 IP and I see no reason he won't have similar results this year.

Anyways : Dotel should be fine, I watch stros game, he's pitching well, though he's kinda through a tough stretch here with the blown saves...

Lidge is obviously the better pitcher, but they need Lidge to actually have a save opp for Dotel in the ninth. I think he'll see more sav opps in the future and he will pitch well most of the time- 35-40 save sounds about right.

And Kolb . He seems like a good clsoer but why isn't he getting those K's? That's why I haven't gotten him yet, 3 cats are K's, K/BB ratio/ K/9 Ratio

I have Kolb, his ERA and WHIP are razor thin. I don't understand the fuss about lack of K's. He's getting people out. Period. Until he stops doing that, you can get all over him. If that guy is STILL on waivers in your league. I question who you're playing with.
