10 team MLB head to head league.

Here's my team:
PLAYER POS STATUS
Piazza, Mike C Active
McGriff, Fred 1B Active
Kent, Jeff 2B Active
Pujols, Albert 3B Active
Rodriguez, Alex SS Active
Drew, J.D. OF Active
Dunn, Adam OF Active
Walker, Larry OF Active
Cameron, Mike U Active
Finley, Chuck P Active
Tomko, Brett P Active
Sabathia, C.C. P Active
Morris, Matt P Active
Nen, Robb P Active
Gagne, Eric P Active
Johnson, Randy P Active
Pierzynski, A.J. C Reserve
Klesko, Ryan OF Reserve
Wilson, Craig A. OF Reserve
Hernandez, Orlando P Reserve
Beckett, Josh P Reserve
Wickman, Bob P Reserve

I can start 7 pitchers. Saves are worth 10 points, so they're pretty valuable. The guy has offered me Roy Oswalt for Sabathia and Nen. I would move Wickman into my second closer role and have Morris, Unit, Oswalt, Finley and Tomko, until El Duque and Beckett come back. I can also pick up another pitcher from waivers of course, but that's a different story.

Should I pull the trigger? I'm thinking "hell yes!" Wickman is looking healed and pretty solid lately. My staff will have three top 15 pitchers in a 10 team league, as well as the number one close in Gagne. Thoughts?

I also think that this deal will help you given your current roster. To make it look really good, however, you'll probably have to find a way to acquire an additional closer somehow. If they're not already gone in your league (is there a dl?), it might be worth stashing away somebody like Leskanic or Gordon.

Thanks Arlo! I'll take care of the closer thing. There are a few diamonds, or at least cubic zirconias ;-) , in the rough on the waiver wire. I like my chances with Wickman. I just need a backup.

I'm doing it!

Sure thing - hope it works out, and hope they're diamonds after all! :-D
