Abreu was ranked above Oswalt in any preseason rankings that you could find and I think it's still true. With Abreu you can pretty much pencil in a 300/100/20/20 year. Oswalt was and still is an injury risk. Is Oswalt can clock in a full year injury free (like he did in 2002) then he'd be a little bit more valuable than Abreu.

An Oswalt for Abreau trade is a pretty fair swap if pitching is what you need

I think that's a pretty fair deal, although with a guy as valuable as Abreu I'd go for less of health risk in a deal. I'd aim high first (Vasquez or Schmidt--yes he's coming off surgery but he's pitching lights out and he's been operated on before in the off-season.) If I couldn't get those guys I'd look at Hudson and Beckett. If I couldn't get any of those guys I'd make a run at Oswalt.
