Sweeney to OF?

I read up that Mi Sweeney will be moved to the OF for interleague play. I believe one of the Mods in here told me that in order to be eligible for the OF you must play a significant number of games more than you would normally play in the infield. What's the number of games he would have to play? Will he even make it to enough games to qualify?

It depends on the league. In Yahoo leagues it's 15 games. In some leagues it's a lot less than that.

They have been talking about the switch vaguely in KC. For one he is a tragedy at 1B and the Royals are stocked full of DH-type guys (a big reason their defense has been so poor). I think the biggest reason is to try and showcase Sweeney abit in an attempt to draw some trade interest. I don't see him as being athletic enough to stick in OF, he is an Edgar Martinez still trying to play a defensive position.

He's also an injury waiting to happen. As an owner of Sweeney in one league I hope that they keep him at 1st for interleague play so he doesn't run around much.
