I would be very surrprised if there is a Halter/Figgins platoon at third.
Halter bombed out in Detroit (DETROIT!!) when the team was at low ebb. The guy has a .306 career OBP and is a below-average fielder. He surrives by being able to breath at any position -- he played everywhere except P & C last year.
All teams need someone like Halter -- but I would be floored if they thought he had more value than Figgins on any given day.
Figgins is .291/.314 vs righty/lefty. No plaotoon necessary

I don't see Mondesi hurting Figgins value.
I think that even if CHone plays 5 games as compared to 7 his production may stay the same or at least get better than recently.
The less is more theory. I also see him getting time over all the field not just paltoon at 3rd, whic I dont think will happen anyway.
Mondesi can only trun Chone back to what he was. A speed threat that will bat hiigh in the order and score a boatload of runs..

I'm gonna stay tuned and see how this situation plays out. Figgy's been fading and Jason Bay's sitting on my league's wire.
