How does Mondesi signing with Angels affect Chone Figgins?

I posted this within another post but thought it could use its own heading. i think it makes him pretty useless as he will no longer be starting every day...right?

yea, im wonderin if mondesi would take over for figgins, and also where he would potentially hit in the lineup- that could make a difference in how much production and in what cats. A number 2 hitter, more runs and sb with protection from vlad and guillen. Farther back in the order, maybe less value...

If Figgins is still in the starting lineup, he will hit 1st or 2nd I think....Vlad 3rd, Guillen 4th, Mondesi 5th...that's how I would do it anyways.

roto spin:

Raul Mondesi told the AP that he's agreed to terms with the Angels on a $1.75 million contract for the rest of the season.
The Angels haven't confirmed the signing, but it looks like Mondesi will join them this weekend and be added to the active roster on Tuesday. AL-only leaguers should grab him since he'll definitely be a regular player initially. Mondesi will probably start off as a DH, but once Tim Salmon returns, the Angels could shift Jose Guillen to center to open up a spot in the outfield. Even though he's probably a better player than Mondesi, Jeff DaVanon has his value decline with this news

I think what everyone is really missing is that Jeff Davanon would lose value more than Figgins. Figgins will still play at 3rd versus right handers with Halter playing against lefties.

I can only hope they move Chone to 3B. That would be so sweet. I need another man at 3rd. ;-7

so would Figgins only play half the time? Would you rather drop Figgns or Gibbons for Mondesi?
