Aaron Boone

With some of the talk about teams possibly interested in aquiring Aaron Boone for use later this year, is anyone toying with picking him up just to hold him? Or do you think he's a total waste of a roster spot this far out?

I've got Lowell and Soriano, so it's not like I need a 2B or 3B desperately, but perhaps he's trade bait later for a stretch run?

If Boone were Alfonso Soriano or another STUD player, then yeah, I would pick him up. But he's just a "good" player, so no, wait until he recovers. If he gets signed by someone, couldn't the team then place them on the DL? That would help his value a lot.

True, but my thought would be once he does get picked up several people in my league hurting for 2B help would snag him fast and store him on their DL.

Just thinking out loud here

I was looking at the same thing this morning. Especially for mid-season leagues that don't start play for another few weeks. Problem is that estimates for a comeback date for Boone are as late as August/September. Not worth a bench spot for that long.

What teams want him? I heard the Yankees, Angels and Braves are interested.

If he was on the DL, then there is a 1% chance that I would consider it. Since he is NA in Yahoo, I won't waste a roster spot on someone who might help me for a month. His main positives were some pop and some speed. I don't expect any speed coming off of a knee injury, either. I might only consider it in a dynasty or keeper league with tons of keepers.
