Odalis has pitched very well this season. Im not sure, but last year his problems seemed to be more in his head. The year before he was amazing however, until he wore down the stretch. Think this is the year he puts it all together??? He is still pretty young.
what do they use? they have to use something to say, "move it!" that's good to know, kulcat. someday i'd have ended up in the dominican, trying to get some old lady out of the way of a fast-approaching loose pig...i'd have screamed, "andale", and instead of moving, she'd have looked at me and said, "honey, we're in the dominican. you don't say that here--" and the lost time would have cost a life. this board is so multi-dimensional.
i think odalis is a great pitcher, and will still get double-digit wins. see what i did, there? look out. i'll do it again later on...
Peter Gammons has been touting Perez as the next Perdo for several years. He has not delivered on his potential because he lacks focus and tends to fall apart under pressure. I think it was ESPN Scouts who cited him as being "loosey-goosey" (read immature). He's 26 and on a roll and has superb stuff. He'll never be Pedro but he is probably in the top quartile of pitchers, IMHO.
