The Dodgers made that trade. :-P Delino played for the Cards after 3 seasons with the Dodgers.

Yeah, Lasorda said Pedro was too small to be a starting pitcher.

Well, this is a more recent one, but the Indians gave up Brain Giles to the Bucs for some no name player who is now out of the majors.

[quote="BlueBallz") Larry Bowa for Ryne Sandberg---I believe that was the trade---that hurt[/quote]

It was worse. It was Bowa and Sandberg for Ivan DeJesus.

Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz.

Jay Buhner for Ken Phelps.

Some recent bad ones,

Kenny Lofton for Eddie Taubensee.

Brian Giles for Ricardo Rincon.

What ever happend to Jay Buhner?? I remember watching him and Griffey smashing home runs all over the place for a couple years, then he just sorta disappeared. I remember him being injured a good bit, did injuries end his career? I also remember the awesome catch he made at Fenway when he ran into the wall and flipped over it.

Ricardo Rincon.. He's got an ERA of 6.14 for the Oakland Athletics this year..

Buhner just got old and injured. I don't consider the Alexander for Smoltz a bad deal because, at the time, both teams got what they needed. :-?
