I finally dropped him. I thought he might have had a chance to really shine this year with a better Kansas team but now they seem out of contention and will probably get worse once Beltran is traded. His nagging injuries make him too erratic to tolerate.
Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.

Injury. Leg I believe. He's day to day.
This in
Gonzalezbizzaro World is known as the beginning of vacation.
I've been something of a student of his career ever since he landed with a thud in Detroit a few years ago. When he starts slumping or getting booed (as is the case in KC now) he inevitably succumbs to a series of small ailments which keep him out for a week or so. This all leads up to a major leg or back injury that no doctor can diagnose (see Texas 2003). Then he'll ask to go home to rehab.
I hate to be a cynic, but this pattern repeats itself every year.

Unfortunately, Juan is not one of those competitive types who will do anything to get into a game. He missed a game with Texas because his pants didn't fit right. Good luck.
Sweet Sassy Molassey!

He's the Dick Allen of this generation -- the player with the most talent that does the least to help his team. In fact may he may even be a net loss.
Although he has two MVP trophies -- give him credit there -- it's surprisigng that he has only been an All-Star three times. That says something, I think. But I don't know what.
