Todd Helton (back/oblique) wants to start tonight against the Padres, but there's a lingering possibility he could land on the DL for the first time in his career.
The Rockies would like to bring back Aaron Miles from Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he is hitting .429 since being sent down, but if Helton goes on the DL it could be Garrett Atkins or Andy Tracy getting the call instead. The team should know more about Helton's status later today.

But, I'd rather him get DL-ed, get better and get back in the lineup than try to play through pain, or come back to early a la Big Sexy.

I've been hit hard by injuries this year too.

J. Mauer
T. Hunter
T. Glaus
S. Stewart
R. Furcal

Have all been on my roster at one point. Still holding Mauer and Glaus on the DL, and Furcal sees some playing time, but it's kinda like playing short a bat or two for me. The possibility of losing Helton too, Yikes!!!! <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif>

Sexson, Giambi, Delgado, now Helton. I suppose Thome is next.

Yes but he could very easily turn into Fat & Lazy Garrett Anderson Part Duex.

I got a deal for Heltno on the table i would be getting him for Pods & Reyes , but I just lost Sexson for the year so I am very hesitant of doing this deal :-o

Nope dont do it, I am trying to unload him now. Back problems are never something I ever want to have to deal with again on my team.

I am about to get Beltan in a multiplayer deal including Helton.
