lol great players like Damon? are you serious? Damon is one of the worst leadoff hitters in baseball if you count OBP.
AL MVP - Manny
NL MVP - Rolen
AL CY - Schilling
NL CY - Clemens
I actually think every one of these people with the exception of Rolen will actually win the awards at the end of the year. But who knows for sure.
I dont have much of a problem giving it to Manny , though i still think it's Vlad.
Vlad has lost more than Manny - GA & Nomar is a wash , what about Erstad, Glaus, Salmon ???? their basically playing w thei bench guys, Davanon, Kotchman, etc, etc, etc while these guys are doing well still.
last i seen Manny stil has Oritz, Varitek & those [edited--none of that- Trans] cowboy up guys from last year.
& again ANGELS HAVE A BETTER RECORD than the Bosox w ALL THE injuries
i agree with all that say manny is overlooked in the mvp race. i guess part of that is the fact that he is not really looked at as a leader(vlad not really either b/c he keeps to himself). many has put up monster numbers through out his career but there's a reason the sox put him on the wavier wire. and it wasn't just because of that fat contract. however he has come out this year saying he'd defer money if it would help sign pedro. i won't argue that manny isn't carrying the team..he is, but so is vlad. vlad is doing it with i believe more significant injuries(almost half the starting line-up is out) and the sox have a better pitching staff. my vote would go in this order Vlad, Manny, I-rod. i put i-rod last because even though he's making a bad team competitive vlad and manny's teams are in the pennent race even with all the injuries. but being a huge angel fan my voice might not really be impartial.

You are discounting the fact that Glaus and Anderson have played this year and well, and the fact that Manny is playing better than Vlad. And you forgot Trot, too.
Mueller, Williamson and Kim are out for the Sox, too.
and with the final mvp predictions...i have no idea. the angels could implode if all the injuries catch up to them, i think the tigers are eventually gonna start losing again..and manny won't win just because the writers just won't vote for him. just one man's opinion
AL:
CY: Curt Schilling
MVP:Melvin Mora. Note that this is SO FAR, and I highly, highly doubt he'll be doing it at the end of the season. But look at the numbers:
League leader in: OBP, OPS, second in SLG, 8 HR, just under 1 K/BB rate, 5 SB.

Again, note that I am going by what has already been accomplished, not the entire season.
For you, then, DK, it's all about stats and not situation? Orioles, in third place, with Raffy, Javy and Tejada? And you pick Mora? I know his stats are good, but the injuries that the Angels and Sox have overcome makes Manny and Vlad the leaders, with Manny on top.
