Is A-Rod still #1?

even @ 3B Arod is the #1 pick. He's the best power hitting player in the AL. and bats behind a guy with a .317 career batting average, and infront of the two other best power hitters in the AL

so my list go's:
Arod
Pujols (to much average and power and we still dont know how high his ceiling is)
Soriano (only time before he starts taking advantage of the short fences @ ameriquest, and should be a lock for atleast 20bags)
Beltran or Vladi (depending on what you value more, the best power/avg hitting OF'er on the board(potential 40/120 guy) or a guy who can potentially steal you 40 bags, but will get you 30/100)

me personally, untill beltran does bat 300/30/100 i think vladi has the better value.

I agree, the SS pos is shallow, therefore sending ARod's value through the roof. But as Beltran continues on pace for 50 steals this season, it is hard to let a 40+ HR/50 SB guy slip out of the number one spot, regardless of position. I think Vlad falls behind these guys because of his position and lack of stolen bases...his numbers will be similar to Beltran's minus the SB's.

LOL@ beltran being a 40HR guy.

if he hits more then 35 i will spoon feed myself, my left nut.

and when he becomes a $15mill/year player next season, if he steals more then 30 Bags especially on a big market team with tons of power behind him i will spoon feed myself, my right nut.

if i was drafting today and i had the numero uno pick id prolly also take A-Rod.... first of all hes eligible at two SS and 3B and even though 3B isnt nearly as weak as it was a couple of years ago, i'd still take a 3B over a similar 1B or OF.... anyways that no. 3 slot means awesome run production (only one whos gonna come close or pass him this year is Vlad)... also dont count out the 10-15 SB's he will give you.
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.

I don't think many people realize Beltran has never hit 30 HRs and has a .286 career average.

And I agree with fantasyfiend, say goodbye to a lot of steals once he's with a big market team. There's no way he'll be swiping 40 if he's playing for the Yankees or whoever he ends up with.

Beltran is so underrated in real life that he's become overrated in fantasy. I'd never take him before 5th in a draft, which is also pretty high.
