If you have a team that hit's .290 and change out one of the hitters for Dunn's .260, then it drops your entire team's batting average by around 3-4 points. That can, and will cost you in a roto league.

If Dunn hits .260, his value is very minimal even with 40 homers and 100 rbi. Not waiver wire material, but not a hot commodity either.


I agree with this and that's why I also think a guy like Andruw Jones is way over rated in fantasy value. Most have him on a par with Chipper and other high avg. hitting OF'ers with a little less pop than Andruw but that ordinary batting avg. can kill you in roto.
