anyone know anything about the possibilities of Urbina losing the closer role? I heard that he is?

Where did you hear that and to who would he lost it to? He hasn't exactly done a bad job....

My buddy told me he read it somewhere but he was not sure where, that is why I asked here. Not really sure who he is losing it too either, he said there set up guy, who ever that is

I don't know off the top of my head and I didn't look it up but I think Urbina's era is well under 3 and he's converted 6/7 save opps.

Always get it in print. I've not heard a word about him losing the job.

Only way he loses it is if

a. he absolutely tanks
or
b. he gets dealt, which is very possible, though I believe Los Tigres signed him to a deal that included an option, not sure team/player, though. If they plan on contending next year (if I were them, I wouldn't, but who knows), they may want to keep him...if not, get a prospect.

He won't lose it. I've learned something about closers this year that I probably should have learned before: having a good closer makes a big difference on a young team when it comes to team confidence. There is nothing worse for a young team than to have lead after lead frittered away at the very end (see: Toronto, KC, Cleveland.) Still think Mark Shapiro wouldn't sign Urbina if he knew how the Indians bullpen would fare?
Conclusion: Urbina isn't going anywhere. Who would replace him?
