IS Mackowiak a contender or pretender? He has 2B, 3B and LF eligibility on Yahoo...

He's a good backup guy to keep on the bench............but not every-day worthy.

I plan to use him as a backup to Teixeira and Mike Young and the occasional start on Mondays/Thursdays when not many teams play.

I have him because of his flexibility. He's on the bench, and will only play if I'm screwed.

He rested Sunday vs. a lefthander and faces Ishii on Tuesday. He was covering for Marcus Giles on my squad but I cut him loose in favor of Bellhorn; my league count walks for hitters and I could use a boost.

Yeah, I have him in their for an injured Marcus Giles, the two SBs the other day were a nice surprise. Actually, relative to his playing time, he's a very productive player, especially at the 2B position. I will probably cut him loose and stick Feliz at SS sliding Uribe from SS to 2B when Feliz qualifies.
Either that, or I may stick Crosby in there if he continues his hot hitting, but Mackowiak is not a bad option at 2B right now.
