Start or Sit?

Postby MookieNJ » Sun Mar 30, 2003 2:48 am

In my Yahoo league we have daily transactions, which let's me pretty much play the matchups with my less than top starters. I basically only have to make 2 starts per week to keep up with the innings requirement ...

Would you start or sit these guys:

Beckett vs. Philadelphia
Sheets @ St. Louis

I'm thinking I'll sit both of them, even though they're each their teams Opening Day starter. I'll lose some strike outs for sure, but I think I'll be doing my ERA and WHIP a favor, as Philly and St. Louis both have decent offenses.

I totally agree. I'm usually pretty conservative when it comes to my starters anyway, but considering the matchups, I'd definitely take a wait-and-see approach, especially to start the season. Good luck.

You never know what your going to get at the start but I'd start Beckett and sit Sheets.

Sheets faces Morris, i bench Sheets. Millwood faces Beckett, a toss up.

I'd bench Sheets and play Beckett. Florida is a good pitcher's park and the Philles lineup has been a little soft in spring training.

I'd start Beckett. I really don't believe Millwood's gonna win more then 15. I think he's gonna (Millwood) defiently have a rough first outing. Go with Beckett, he's itching to get out there and show he's over the blister problem.
