I drafted Jose Vidro, 2B and Brad Wilkerson, CF and hoped for good things from them. They've stunk all year long. The team isn't scoring any runs (2.8 per game). How long do I stick with them? Vidro's been so good for so long, I just can't imagine giving up on him for someone like Mark Bellhorn or Ronnie Belliard (the best available 2Bs).
Our hitting categories are R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG. With the OBP and SLG categories, I expected both of them to be solid picks.
Best Available 2Bs: Bellhorn, Belliard
Best Available CFs: Finley, Byrnes, Figgins, Dellucci
I also have Nick Johnson on the DL. Will his presence in the Expos lineup make enough difference to hang tight with Vidro and Wilkerson?
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
