Need a 1b/3B

I am thinking about offering Kerry Wood for a bat. I am sorely in need of power. Here is my roster,

Benito
Durazo
Manny
Bernie
Vina
Aramis
Batista
Kearns
Sheff
Damon

Pitchers

Pedro
Wade
Kerry
Woody W.
Osuna
Percival
Julio Jorge
Acevedo
Odalis Perez
Russ Ortiz

My proposals would be

Dunn for Wood
Glaus for Wood
Bagwell for Wood (maybe)

or should I try to package Wood and a closer for a better upgrade?

Feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

I'd first try to go Bagwell for Wood in order to replace Durazo at first base. Bagwell's more consistent as well as plays in a better ballpark.

If that doesn't work, go for Glaus. Tony Batista's been playing extremely well, but Glaus has been a machine throughout the year and the Angels are playing well enough to keep giving him RBI opportunities, not something you'll see in Baltimore (?)

I would rather get Dunn than Bagwell-- Bagwell's shoulder is still an issue, plus Dunn is 1B/OF eligible and he will steal more bases. Dunn's Ks are worrysome, but he walks alot too.

Thanks for the feedback.

I might hold off to see how Wood does in his next start. What about offering

Kearns and Acevedo for Scott Rolen?

The Kearns offer sound intriguing - I like it, especially with Ramirez 'playing through pain' for the foreseeable future..

I'm not sure I'd offer Wood right away. Try seeing whether one of your other guys (Miller?) could get you an upgrade and leave the heart of your rotation intact.

I think Scott Rolen just sprained his ankle. With all the other bad luck he's had, you may want to avoid him. GIving up Kearns and Acevedo is not giving up much, but Acevedo seems to be doing real well. If you feel confident Rolen will rebound, grab him. I'm not so confident though. He can't play in Philly. He's got to get out of there.

I think I like Dunn the most out of those three, but Glaus is a third baseman. there are more outfielders out there than thir basemen. I'd much rather have Glaus than Rolen!
