I've had Nix since last year in my keeper league.........so far I like what I see. He's supposed to have some speed too, but nobody in Texas is stealing much. He sits v. some lefties but most of the time he'll start. I don't know if I'd want to start him in a 12 team league but in my 18 team league where I have Winn, you can bet Nix is getting a promotion while Randy's gonna be ridin the pine.

I picked him up last night and dropped Milton Bradley. I've plugged him into my OF today vs. Contreras. Just don't play him vs. left handed pitchers. My offens has kind of stagnated over the last 2 weeks, and I'm hoping he can give it a jump start.

Yikes! Except for Chan Ho and Todd Van Poppel, right?
I'll admit he pulled some good trades last year (would have been better had Juan and Raffy gone as well) and he pulled a pretty good deal with the ARod trade so I guess things have gotten better.
I think a lot more praise is owed to Buck and Hershiser (or however the heck you spell his name) though because a lot of the veterans that were brought in were suggested by Buck and they have worked out well, and Orel seems to be doing very well with the staff.
Nix is going to likely obliterate my pre-season projection of 17 HR, which is fine by me. Play everyday vs. righties for now, and monitor vs. lefties.
By the way, little brother Jayson Nix is on the horizon for Texas. Plays 2B, nice i mix of speed and power. Needs to improve the discipline some, but he's a legit prospect. With Laynce in the OF and Jayson at the keystone, might this be a down the road version of the Giles brothers?
Jayson plays for the Rockies I think..not Texas. But so far they're loking like the next Giles family. I bet their other brothers' names are Keyvin and Deyrek

He's played great against righties and sits or plays terribly against most lefties, hence the platoon with E. Young, who has done the opposite so far this year. I figure as the year goes on Nix will get more at-bats and Young less, but I still wouldn't play Nix against most lefties. Actually, using Texas' own platoon in CF would have worked really well with Young if anyone had used it.
Help with my team please:
