Would any of you drop Brian Lawrence of the Padres for him? I have Armando and Dotel in the closers spots, and had Cordero but traded him away for Penny, so right now i'm above in RP appearances(we have a limit, H2H FP league), so basically the only reason i'd be pickin him up would be to use as trade bait if he acutally turns out to be pretty good. I dont see alot of logic in it, but if he does turn out to be real good I dont want to miss out.
If you're really brave you could pick him up and trade Benitez. Affeldt is unpredictable, he could take the job and run with it, or MacDougal could start pitching well in which case he would lose the job upon his return.
I've been thinking of trading Rhodes in a package to acquire a 2B (Michael Young) to replace Giles... if I do that do you think Affeldt will be a good rest-of-the-season replacement for Rhodes, or might it be better to pick up Affeldt and try to deal him off to the owners who didn't realize he became the closer?
I just made a steal of a trade, creating a roster spot. With that, I picked up Field yesterday morning. Someone grabbed Affeldt before I could.
While I love him in the closer's spot, I wonder if he will have blister problems again. I also wonder what Field did to lose the job after 1 attempt. Back to the WW for someone else.

Arizona has produced more save opps than Kansas City so far. Arizona also has MUCH better starting pitching also, so I would probably rather have Valverde. I think he'll hang on to the job, but that's just my opinion.
well, first of all,
affeldt sucks,
and valverde is far better than he is pitching this year.
and even at his worst, valverde is better than affeldt
