unbelieveable....Polanco had what....1 RBI on a solo HR hitting in the 2 hole the first six weeks....and Utley tears the cover off teh ball and they wanna start Polanco again....its not like Utley is some flash in the pan did Bowa not know this kid is their best offensive prospect?

Stupid Phils. Utley is the future. Polanco is a big-headed crap train.

LMAO

Nice, this is exactly what I had hoped for last time I posted about Utley. I'm tempted to revamp my whole MI now, with Utley, and now Crosby (2 more HRs today)

I'm using Uribe and Mackowiak, but Utley/Crosby sounds better right about now. Of course that's a pretty big gamble relying on two rookies, but my MI is supposed to be Giles and Reyes anyhow.

In spite of his awful start this season, Polanco is a proven big league hitter.

Four full season in the show.
2003: 122 G-.289-87-14-63-14
2002: 147 G-.288-75-9-49-5
2001: 144 G-.307-87-3-38-12
2000: 118 G-.316-50-5-39-4

Utley's upside is higher down the road, but right now I'd rather have Polanco. That's just my opinion...but what isn't my opinion and what is virtually certain fact, is that if Utley stays with the big club once Polanco returns in a few days, the value of both Polanco and Utley drops significantly, as neither will be full time. In fact, even David Bell's worth may drop as his PT could be affected.

Bowa is as old school as it gets, meaning no player will ever lose his gig due to an injury. Meaning, Polanco plays when he's ready. I think Utley gets sent back down to insure everyday PT. So don't be too quick to can a starting MI for Utley just yet.

If Utley will play actively at 2B, is he worth adding for Spivey?

You wouldn't be the first. My Mi was Womack and Cintron, Now it's Utley and Crosby. I like the current much better because they will stay healthy and hit well. By the way Polanco looks like he's 52.

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

There is no way they can send this kid down again (or are they that stupid?) ! He has proved himself in the minor leagues and is proving right now he can hit MLB pitching.

Why don't they just play Utley at second base, move Palanco to third, and sit Bell?

Because unfortunatelly, Bell is hitting the ball pretty well right now and they spent too much money on Bell for that to really be a good option unless they can trade him.
