Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins placed outfielder Shannon Stewart on the 15-day disabled list after he missed his third straight game Thursday with a strained right foot.
The move is retroactive to May 18. Stewart is batting .287 with three homers and 17 RBI in 31 games so far this season.
He joins a growing list of injuries for the Twins. First baseman Doug Mientkiewicz's bad back has caused him to miss two consecutive games, as has second baseman Luis Rivas, who suffered a groin injury Tuesday. Fellow starters Corey Koskie and Joe Mauer are already on the disabled list.
To fill out the roster, Minnesota recalled first baseman Justin Morneau from Triple-A Rochester.
