My pitching is just awful. I am looking for anything that will help. Todd Van Poppel has had a couple of decent outings recently. Anybody have him? Worth a faab buck? Do I take him or Brian Fuentes ? I am thinking Fuentes could get a save or two plus help lowing my era and whip.

NL only league? Go for it IMO. What do you have to lose?
For those who have been waiting for the last 13 years, Todd Van Poppel has finally started to play like he belongs.
For those who don't remember, think Zack Grienke times 10 on the hype machine.

From Rotoworld article -
Admittedly, when the Reds announced they were making Van Poppel a starting pitcher rather than promoting Brandon Claussen from AAA, I too thought they were crazy. However, Van Poppel has been impressive in his two starts thus far. In those starts, he is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. While I doubt this trend will continue, those in NL-only leagues should pick him up, just in case it does.

I was thinking in comparison to Brian Fuentes. I would rather take a flier on Todd VP. He at least has a chance to do something, Fuentes has the big flag of "no" associated with him...he's a Rocky. Nice era, nice K per innning. But I think in this case the risk reward is greater with Todd.

However, I shall add, I don't condone any sane person to pick Todd Van Poppel up and drop someone legitimate.
