Watched it. He looked pretty damn good. Had his nasty curve working. Kept a lot of his pitches down, so lot of ground-ball outs. I've had him on my bench for a bit, but I think I'll start him next week.
I'm thinking it's time for Hybrid to come in here and say I told you so. He called it, I'll admit it. I was bashing Myers terribly when he was struggling, saying he needs to go to AAA. He kept insisting he was going to come around.....I thought he was nuts.
Good call Hybrid, come enjoy some bragging, you deserve it....
I was down on Myers too...but I don't feel like I should "repent". I was pretty high on Loaiza (who got another W today, BTW), and he pitched a CGSO (giving up only 2 hits, not 5) and poeple said "oh, it's only TB". Well Myers was in the best pitcher's park in baseball tonite.
But still, I'll admit I never saw this coming. However it is only one start, and I'll wait before coming to any conclusions. He has still been very bad throughout his whole career, including overall this year, so a good game in Chavez Ravine won't change my mind. Sorry if I come across as a stubborn "glass half empty" guy but one or two games won't change my opinion on somebody.
I gotta give you credit for predicting this though, Hybrid. I wonder how many wins Loaiza will have to get before his naysayers do the same It'll probably all season, but I can wait.

Jackel, the game was in Philly not L.A. That so far is pretty hitter friendly. Also he had another really good outing in BOB 2 games before this one (another hitter friendly park). His last game he pitched well considering it was at coors.
Also for anyone who hasn't followed the threads on him, I said he was making progress and was coming around after the cards game. Let's look at his 3 games since.....
22-IP 17-H 5-ER 5-BB 12-K ( @ BOB, @ Coors, @ Citizen bank ) none of them pitcher friendly

My mistake...I was looking at the boxscore and at the top they had "Philadelphia 4, Los Angeles 0" so I figured the home team was the second team mentioned. I guess the winning team is always listed first, I never really paid attention before. But still, it's one game. If this becomes a trend, I'll definately consider picking him back up. It'd be nice to see some K's though.
